JOB: Business Development Role – Nairobi Area

Our client in FMCG is looking to hire a Business development officer – In charge of developing business in the region.

Job summary:

Responsible for the development and performance of all sales activities in the assigned market. Manage all sales and support Staffs and directs a sales team while providing a leadership, towards the achievement of maximum profitability and growth in line with company vision and values. Establishes plans and strategies to expand the customer base in the marketing area and contributes to the development of training and educational programs for the sales team members.


Develop new business, accounts and expand new territories encompassing both corporate and retail business.

Good understanding of end to end sales cycle process focussing on customer satisfaction

Design marketing activities and activations that focus on creating brand awareness and product penetration

Create weekly/monthly forecasts on revenue/target management and end of month reports on revenue and market performance

Delivering against these targets to ensure revenue expectations are met

Researching on Industry & Market trends

Provide trustworthy feedback and after sales support.



Sales strategy development

Lead generation

Sales operations management

Business development

Creative team leadership

Channel Management

Good negotiation and closing skills

Customer management skills



  • 5-year experience in a FMCG environment preferably in food related industry
  •  Interpersonal skills and strong analytical skills
  • Proficiency in computer applications
  • Relevant experience in Kenyan Retail industry and FMCG and processed foods will be an advantage.
