JOB: Foreman

Our client in the construction industry is looking to fill the position of FOREMAN. The incumbent will coordinate operations and oversee workers at the construction site. He/She will act as a point of reference of both workers and supervisors. They will be a key person for the completion of a project.

He/She should have a solid background in the field. Their leadership skills and extensive experience should give them the ability to direct the work of others and make quick decisions. He/she should be well organized and favor safety above everything elase.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Coordinate tasks according to the priorities and plans
  • Produce schedules and monitor attendance crew
  • Allocate general and daily responsibilities
  • Supervise and train workers and tradespeople
  • Supervise the use of machinery
  • Ensure manpower and resources are adequate
  • Guarantee all safety precautions and quality standards are met
  • Monitor expenditure and ensure it remains within the budget
  • Resolve problems when they arise
  • Report on progress to managers, engineers etc

REQUIREMENTS

  • At least 2-4 years’ experience in similar role
  • Proven experience as a construction foreman
  • In-depth knowledge of construction procedures, equipment and OSH guidelines
  • Understanding of electrical systems
  • Ability to read drawings, plans and blueprints
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills
  • Ability to communicate and report effectively
  • A diploma in a skilled trade (electrician, carpenter etc)
