JOB: Management Accountant

Our Client, a company in the FMCG industry is looking to fill the following position;

Position: Management Accountant

Reporting to: Managing Director 

Job purpose summary

Analyzing financial information and preparing financial reports to determine or maintain a record of assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liability, or other financial activities within an organization.

Roles & responsibilities

  • Management Accounting: Coordinating and monitoring annual budgets for management’s decision making    and to ensure that revenue and expenditure is kept in line with the budget.
  • Advising management on proper financial planning and control by preparing and producing monthly management accounting reports for decision making.
  • Responsible for the preparation and analysis of cost reports; providing management with reports specifying and comparing factors affecting prices and profitability of products.
  • Budgeting; Preparation of financial reports for decision making including the Monthly Budget Control.
  • Analysing your company's financial performance and making longer term forecasts
  • Recommending ways of cutting costs
  • Audit - Maintain records and support auditing efforts

Qualifications and requirements

  • University degree in an area related to Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or its equivalent
  • Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (CPA), is a plus
  • At least 2 years experience in experience in manufacturing industry mostly handling cost.
  • Knowledge of accounting systems, financial reporting and internal methodologies
  • Ability to use logic and reason to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions;
  • Ability to identify complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
