VACANT POSITION: AREA SALES REPRESENTATIVE

Our client dealing with food products manufacturing is looking to hire an Area Sales Representative.

Job Location; Western region

JOB PURPOSE:

The ideal candidate should be able to understand how to identify a new market opportunity and develop and implement growth strategies.

MAIN TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure full product portfolio coverage across the designated region
  • Attain the monthly set targets assigned for the region
  • Coordinate customer process including the Contractual Agreements (SLAs)
  • Conduct sales in accordance to defined and documented processes and procedures
  • Manage time and expectations on the field daily including adhering on the early morning hours to monitor movement of sales
  • Identify new opportunities and potential business for the company and maintain relationships in a very organized manner
  • Recruit and establish business-oriented and well-structured distributors with financial muscle, ideal infrastructure, and manpower
  • Establish strong and long-term relationship and with the distributers
  • Establish proper demarcation on the routes/distributors to make sure the entire market is covered
  • Provide Strategic Sales support and guidance to distributors as the key company liaison
  • Monitor consistency of distribution in the assigned region on a daily basis
  • Identify a support system of agents at the retail who will pull the milk from the distributors
  • Ensure the set KPI’s are met
  • Handle customer complaints and issues in a professional and friendly manner
  • Conduct market research on competitor activity and identify relevant threats and opportunities
  • Coordination in the market between the distributors and the retail market
  • Participate in the rollout of our IT system.
  • Weekly reports on sales

 

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS;

  • Diploma /Degree in Sales and Marketing
  • At least 3-5 years of relevant experience in a busy FMCG
  • Excellent selling, communication and negotiation skills
  • Highly motivated and target driven with a proven track record in sales
