FMCG Brand & Marketing Manager

Our client in the FMCG Industry is looking to hire a brand & Marketing Manager.

Workstation: Nairobi

Job Purpose;

The ideal candidate will be responsible for understanding consumers, developing marketing strategies/plans, and managing brands to ensure market competitiveness

Main Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Developing overall marketing strategy and defining the offering and customer’s value proposition.
  • Establishing and managing marketing budgets for designing and executing brand and product marketing programs for effective positioning of products and propositions in the marketplace.
  • Developing and deploying annual marketing plans for all brands and developing a brand identity toolkit.
  • Defining and managing category marketing strategies, identifying key insights from competitor, consumer, and category analysis.
  • Establishing goals, objectives, and metrics for products by channels/segments.
  • Managing all branding and marketing activities for the organization and providing guidance to other sections within the business regarding branding and marketing.
  • Analyzing how people make decisions about what they buy, want, need, or act in regards to a product, service, or the company.
  • Evaluating brand performance in the market and identifying improvement opportunities based on the analysis.
  • Defining and managing the product portfolio and developing business cases for new products in collaboration with the Head of Supply Chain and the Head of Commercial Services.
  • Designing and developing new brands and managing the brand life cycle.
  • Planning and implementing market activation activities/programs in established, untapped, forgotten, and developing markets.
  • Managing and tracking performance of employees within the marketing section.
  • Providing leadership, guiding, mentoring and identifying training opportunities for the development of the employees in both the Sales and Marketing sections.
  • Leading the design of product packaging in line with regulatory requirements.
  • Participating in Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) meetings with the objective of achieving focus, alignment, and synchronization among all functions in the organization, such as; sales, marketing, production, inventory, procurement, maintenance, and finance.
  • Managing creative agencies to deliver creative concepts, programs where required.
  • Advising on and managing research projects which will support / justify in market activities


Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Sales and Marketing or any relevant field
  • Certification in Sales/Marketing or any relevant field from a recognized institution.
  • A minimum of 8 years’ relevant experience, five of which must be in a managerial position.
