Our client in telecommunication industry is looking to hire a Warehouse Officer based in Nairobi.

Work Station: Nairobi

JOB PURPOSE;

The ideal candidate should guarantee the good performance of Stocks (Reception, entry into stock, exit from Stock), organize the Store team to meet all requests within the required deadlines and constantly update the Store’s stock status.

MAIN TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES;

  • Coordinate with the Purchasing department on the planning of in-store receptions (Import & local purchases)
  • Proceed to the qualitative and quantitative control: checking the apparent condition of the packages, quantitative comparison against the delivery slip or the packing list)
  • Codify the packages (generate a bar code or manual coding, affix the bar code label to the package, “Flash” the package as “Stock entry or affix the Excel format label).
  • Receive defective parts and materials from site returns.
  • Receive and verify the validation of the operational staff’s “Exit vouchers”
  • Supervise the preparation of orders by the Warehouseman teams by ensuring the availability of the quantities requested for each item
  • Prepare deliveries to Stores (Replenishment of  Stocks)
  • Make sure that the packages are removed from the theoretical stock (Flashing or on Excel file).
  • Supervise the loading and handling of packages by the carrier
  • Provide the Carrier with all of the documents necessary for the operation (Copy of Release slip, Delivery slip)
  • Plan the daily work of the teams according to the importance of the flow of the day
  • Ensure that stock movements in the computer system are carried out simultaneously as soon as there is physical entry and exit of the stock
  • Ensure the cleanliness of the store (Management of packaging waste, order and supervise the daily cleaning of the warehouse).

 

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS;

  • At least 3-5 of years of relevant experience in inventory management
  • Knowledge of warehouse management and management of “Store” teams.
  • Be comfortable with the IT tool, especially the office pack (Word, Excel, power point, etc.)
  • Experience in the field of telecoms would be an added advantage
  • logistics and transport management, business management  experience is required
  • Have a good level in French, both oral and written
  • Good analytical skills

JOB PURPOSE:

The primary role is sourcing for high quality raw materials and negotiate the contracts to purchase raw materials with suppliers.

MAIN TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Identifying and sourcing the best value and quality agricultural produce as required and sharing updates with the procurement officer.
  • Getting different price quotes from supplier /farmers for all the raw products that the company purchases and sharing with the supervisors
  • Creating a comprehensive digital database for all farmers interacted with  in different regions in Africa
  • Engaging with farmer organizations in different parts of Africa and creating workable contracts
  • Assist in designing and updating annual procurement plan by reviewing seasonal production cycles for different products within the continent.
  • Attending conferences, meetings and industry events upon confirmation and direction from the company.

JOB PURPOSE:

To lead the development and implementation of supply chain strategies, capabilities and initiatives to support supply chain performance that meets the organization short and long term goals.

The role is responsible for sourcing or raw materials and overseeing all aspects of manufacturing and engineering to schedule, cost and quality commitments, for all product lines based on set business plans.

MAIN TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Create savings within the entire organisation’s supply chain and aggressively pursue cost-saving opportunities with suppliers and other business partners
  • Lead senior management routines to monitor core supply chain performance, including delivering against product and service level agreements and cost objectives.
  • Oversee the procurement process to ensure that these are in line with the organization turnaround plans and processes and ensure that KPI’s on price, quality and time are achieved.
  • Review the usage and expenditure on large expenditure items with a view of identifying areas of cost reduction and/or service improvement
  • Co-ordinate and supervise the tendering process including participating in the evaluation of bids for goods and services.
  • Prepare & submit periodic summary of procurements executed, ongoing and deferred with appropriate explanations.
  • Ensure efficient and cost-effective management of the inbound & outbound stores.
  • Ensure increased realization of products in quantities and quality that meets established customer, regulatory and statutory quality requirements so as to build and sustain customer satisfaction;

  • Engineer relevant factory optimisation initiatives to ensure continuous improvement is embedded in day to day factory operations activities
  • Work with the MD and the production Manager to optimize capital allocation, increase return on invested capital and reduce total costs of ownership of assets across the organisation
  • Oversee the preparation of the Department’s annual operating and capital budgets ensuring that the budget conforms to the overall business strategy and remaining accountable for its implementation;
  • Ensure compliance to all Company policies and procedures and to all applicable regulatory and legal requirements
  • Reduce in-process resource wastages i.e. electricity, leaf/tobacco and other materials through clearly laid down proactive measures
  • Establish a culture of first-time quality across the entire process of production
  • Embed safety culture in all activities at the factory and take overall responsibility for management of SHE at the factory.
  • Overall responsibility for development of leaders within the function and ensuring that proper succession plans are in place.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS;

  • Master’s Degree in Business Administration – Supply Chain/Procurement or any other relevant field.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering would be an added advantage.
  • Postgraduate qualification in Supply Chain Management from a recognised institution.
  • Member of the Kenya Institute of Supplies Management would be an added advantage.
  • Relevant training in Corporate Governance and Leadership.
  • A minimum of 10 years’ relevant experience, five of which must be in a senior management position.
  • Extensive supply chain experience in a manufacturing entity.
  • Ability to create partnerships and strong relationships

MAIN TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage Central Warehouse, in terms of planning the storage of assets under direct supervision of Asset Manager
  • Prepare assets for issue and ensure equipment and assets are in prime condition
  • Test equipment for functionality prior to storing or issue; receive assets and equipment after R&I and coordinates storage accordingly taking in to consideration special requirement for storage such as Electrical, Chemical, environmental or other sensitive equipment and items
  • Prepare issue / hand-over vouchers of equipment and update them in manual / electronic records of assets management including in the property management database
  • Assist with determination on status and classification of assets and updates the records in the appropriate system
  • Receive, inspect and verify all incoming assets and supplies; provide report to supervisor on availability of expandable and nonexpendable items
  • Assist supervisor with preparation of timely write-off of assets as per established procedures; deliver assets to Property Disposal Unit in coordination with Disposal Unit
  • Assist with the preparation of equipment packing lists and Cargo Movement Requests (CMR)
  •  Inspects physical condition of warehouse and equipment
  • Open and close the warehouse on the schedule established by management and for this purpose maintain and secure keys to the warehouse storage area; Load and unload of consignments.

 

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS;

  • Trade certificate or University degree in relevant field
  • At least 7 years of experience in a related position
  • Knowledge of shipping/receiving and inventory standards and practices.

JOB PURPOSE;

The ideal candidate will be responsible for ordering, receiving, storing, tracking, disbursing, and reconciling all supplies and stock. He/she will liaise closely with Procurement, Marketing and Production to place orders and receive supplies

MAIN TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Monitoring all stores transactions and overseeing and supervising store staff.
  • Overseeing that vehicle materials are received and issued accordingly.
  • Making sure that company disposal materials are done procedural in liaison with quality department
  • Organize daily, weekly, monthly, and annual stock taking exercises and reconciliations.
  • Implement improvement processes and systems to reduce inventory shortage, minimize stockouts.
  • Overseeing that inventory is moved by scheduling materials to be moved to and from warehouse, coordinating inventory transfers with related departments.
  • Receive and inspect deliveries to ensure they meet expected specifications
  • Ensure that stock movement is monitored, and the stocks balance are accurate at all times
  • Ensure that raw materials received are properly matched with respective L.P.O, pack list or delivery notes.
  • Prevent theft or pilferage by maintaining proper and effective checks
  • Control inventory levels by conducting physical counts and reconcile physical stocks with SAP system.
  • Use space and mechanical handling equipment efficiently, making sure quality, budgetary targets and environmental objectives are met.
  • Maintain standards of health and safety, hygiene and security in the work environment, for example, ensuring that stock such as chemicals and food are stored safely.
  • Maintain receiving, warehousing, and distribution operations by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing programs, operational, and personnel policies and procedures.
  • Achieve financial objectives by preparing an annual budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions.

 

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS;

  • Bachelor’s degree in Warehousing/Logistics or related field
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience in warehousing at Management level.
  • Prior experience supervising not less than 10 staff in the warehousing environment
  • Familiarity with use of an IT system in the warehousing environment.
